Cuba's Second 2024 Edición Limitada Appears This Weekend

There might not be much bullfighting at the Las Ventas arena in Madrid on Saturday night, but there will be plenty of cigars. This weekend, Tabacalera S.L.U., the Cuban cigar distributor for Spain, is throwing its premiere party for the H. Upmann Magnum Finite, the second of Cuba’s 2024 in June. Cocktail hour is starting in the stands before dinner, which will happen right in the ring of Plaza de Toro Las Ventas, one of the biggest bullfighting venues in the world.
The cigar world first heard of the H. Upmann Magnum Finite earlier this year, via an announcement made during the Habanos Festival. It’s a unique size, measuring 5 1/8 inches by 53 ring gauge, and comes in sleek, 25-count boxes. For this release, Habanos introduced an entirely new packaging design, as this is the first time an H. Upmann has been presented in these two-toned boxes with red trim.
Habanos S.A., has spent the last two decades slowly expanding H. Upmann’s Magnum series. It started with the Magnum 46, then was expanded with such regular-production sizes as the Magnum 50 and Magnum 54. Previous Edición Limitadas include the Magnum 48 and Magnum 56. A Super Magnum was released for the 2020 Colleción Habanos and a Magnum 52 was the chosen size for the Year of the Tiger zodiac series.
Spain is often the country where Cuban cigars make their first appearance, outside of Havana. The Cohiba Novedosos, Montecristo Wide Edmundo and the Partagás Legado Edición Limitada 2020 were all unveiled at large parties in Madrid.
Tabacalera still doesn’t have an official commercial release date (or retail price) for the Magnum Finite yet, so it will still be a while before you find them in stores. Once they start appearing in the market, you can look for a rating in Cigar Insider shortly after.
