When the La Gloria Cubana Serie S line Scandinavian Tobacco Group is taking it further and darker with the Serie S Maduro line. It comes in a Mexican San Andrés Negro wrapper that’s even darker than the original.
Underneath the dark Mexican wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder holds together a filler blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco for a strength level that’s being billed as medium-to-full in body.
La Gloria Cubana Serie S Maduro comes in the same three thick sizes as the original line: Robusto Gordo, measuring 5 1/2 inches by 56 ring gauge; Presidente at 7 by 56; and the 6-by-60 Gigante. Packed in slide-lid cabinets of 24, the cigars range in suggested retail price from $7.99 to $8.99 each.
Like most La Gloria Cubana cigars, Serie S Maduro is made in the Dominican Republic at El Credito, a rolling gallery within the General Cigar Dominicana factory dedicated to the production of La Gloria.
These darker La Glorias will begin shipping to retailers this weekend on the first of July, but will also be on display at the PCA trade show.
La Gloria Cubana is distributed by Forged Cigar Co., a distribution arm of STG.
