New Norteño Edicion Limitada From Drew Estate
Drew Estate master blender Willy Herrera has announced that he is adding a new limited-edition size to his Herrera Esteli Norteño line.
The Herrera Esteli Norteño Edicion Limitada, which debuted at the IPR trade show, is a 7 inch by 48 ring gauge Churchill, and like the original Norteño line, it will be box-pressed.
“I chose the Churchill because, like the Lancero in the Herrera Esteli line, it’s a size that smokes so very different from everything else offered in the line,” said Herrera.
According to Herrera, the tobaccos in the Norteño Edicion Limitada blend are the same as the original Norteño, only tweaked slightly. That blend is a filler mix of Nicaraguan tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa Valley with a Honduran binder, covered by a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper.
“The changes I made were minimal,” he said. “All the tobaccos used in the core line are used in this size as well. The changes I made were in the percentages of ligero versus viso. I wanted to make this size a bit more elegant compared to the other sizes in the core line.”

The Herrera Esteli Norteño Edicion Limitada, which is being rolled at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate, will retail for $14 and ship in 15-count boxes beginning in September.
