Byron Epique Poemas Humidor Heading To Retailers

This week, tobacconists should start receiving the 19th Century Byron Epique Poemas humidor, a limited-edition set that holds 30 cigars, as well as an additional supply of 50 refill smokes.
Made by Selected Tobacco in Costa Rica, the 19th Century Byron Epique Poemas cigars measure 7 inches by 54 ring gauge and consist of an Ecuadoran wrapper and binder around a filler blend of tobacco from Peru and Nicaragua. Each cigar stands upright in the humidor, which is finished in hazelnut and made with two magnetically sealed, outward-hinging doors.
According to United Cigar Group, the New Hampshire-based distributor of the Byron brand, the cigars were rolled four years ago and have been aging since.
“Lord Byron gave the world poetry and I try to capture his ion with the Byron line,” said Nelson Alfonso of Selected Tobacco. “I look for an emotional response not only in the packaging designs but more importantly in my cigars.”
The cigar-filled humidor (and 50 extra refill smokes) has a suggested retail price of $2,960 (or $37 per cigar). Only 500 will be produced with 200 scheduled for this year. The rest are set to arrive before Spring of 2023.
