Cohiba Ambar Coming To Switzerland

It’s been nearly three years since Habanos S.A. La Casa del Habano shops, the official retail outlets of Cuba’s Habanos organization. On the 26th, the Ambars should go on sale at the country’s Habanos Specialists.
The short, fat Ambars measure 5 1/4 inches by 53 ring gauge, a size known as Placeres in Cuban cigar factories. They are topped with pigtail caps reminiscent of Talismáns. As is expected, the cigars won’t be cheap. Each Ambar has a suggested retail price of 87 Swiss francs, or about $99. The cigars come 10 per box.
There’s no word as to when Ambars will be released throughout the rest of the world, but these are not limited editions, so any market that sells Cohibas will eventually get stocks of this new cigar, although all Cohibas are made in relatively limited quantities each year.
Cigar Aficionado was in Havana last week during the Habanos Festival. We visited seven Casa del Habano shops, as well as various other Habanos Specialists throughout the city, and there were no Ambars out on display.
