Cohiba Gran Reserva Selling For More Than $600

No Cuban cigar commands more attention than a Cohiba, and in 11 days the Cohiba Espléndidos Gran Reserva Cosecha 2017 will go on sale in Switzerland with an extremely high price tag of 534 Swiss francs, which translates to $623. In of cigars, it’s about as expensive as they get.
The cigars come in boxes of 15, and the box price for a full box in Swiss markets will be 8,010 Swiss francs, or $9,300 a box. October 22 is the official launch date for Swiss Casa del Habano stores, followed by a release on October 29th at Swiss Habanos Specialist stores.
The cigars have been seen in already, and there are talks that they have arrived—or will arrive soon—in other European markets as well.
Cuba’s Gran Reservas are intended to be special versions of Cuban cigars. Previous incarnations include Montecristo No. 2, Partagás Lusitania and Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona. For this Cohiba Gran Reserva, Cuba says it used only five-year-old leaves.
The release is limited to 5,000 boxes, each one individually numbered.
