Delayed Nat Cicco 55th Anniversary Ships

The Nat Cicco cigar brand celebrated its 55th Anniversary in 2020, and the company sought to create a commemorative cigar for the milestone and came up with the Nat Cicco Fifty Five, a figurado that debuted to retailers at the 2021 PCA trade show. Though it was scheduled to reach cigar stores last October, the cigar finally began shipping to retailers earlier this week.
The cigars were delayed principally by Covid-19, which has created production issues across the industry and postponed getting the boxes for Nat Cicco Fifty-Five made in time. Covid-19 also took a dearer toll on the cigar brand as its blender, Rolando Villamil, died a few weeks ago from complications of the disease. He was 70 years old.
Measuring 6 1/4 inches by 60 ring gauge, this thick smoke is made with a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Indonesian binder from the island of Java and filler leaves from both Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Nat Cicco Fifty Five ships in orange boxes of 10 and retails for $16 each.
The cigar is rolled at the Tabacalera Von Eicken factory in the Dominican Republic, the same factory where Epic Cigars (a brand that Nat Cicco’s parent company Zander-Greg Inc. acquired in 2019) are made.
