Drew Estate Collaborates With Eminem’s Shady Records On Limited-Edition Cigar

It’s no secret that Jonathan Drew, the affable co-founder of Drew Estate, loves hip-hop and old school rap. Now he has teamed up once again with one of the biggest names in music, Shady Records, on a limited-edition cigar that celebrates the 20th anniversary of the influential record label founded by artist Eminem and manager Paul Rosenberg.
The Undercrown ShadyXX is a 5 inch by 50 ring gauge, box-pressed belicoso that’s rolled with Nicaraguan and Brazilian filler tobaccos, a Connecticut Habano binder and a dark, toothy Mexican San Andrés wrapper.
Drew Estate smokers may recognize the ShadyXX blend: it’s the same one used in the Undercrown ShadyXV, the first time Drew Estate and Shady Records collaborated on a cigar. Whereas that limited-edition smoke was released in 2014 only in the Detroit area (where Eminem is from), Undercrown ShadyXX will ship in August to Drew Diplomat retailers nationwide.
Undercrown ShadyXX comes packed in special 10-count boxes that will retail for $104, or $10.40 per cigar. Drew Estate is calling the decorative boxes “petacas,” which means tobacco pouch in Spanish.
The petacas feature gold embossed lettering that includes the words “Habe fiduciam sumus umbriferum,” a Latin phrase that loosely translates to “Trust us, we’re shady.” That’s the unofficial motto of the record label.
Like all Undercrown cigars, ShadyXX is rolled at the Drew Estate cigar factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
