Drew Estate TAA Exclusive Is A New Herrera Estelí
The newest addition to Drew Estate's lauded Herrera Estelí line isn't a regular-production cigar, but rather a vitola that will be sold only through retailers that are of the Tobacconists Association of America.
Dubbed Herrera Estelí TAA Exclusive, the new parejo is set to launch at next week's TAA convention in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. And while it carries the well known Herrera Estelí name, the similarities more or less end there, as the blend is a departure from the core Herrera Estelí.
For the first time since ing Drew Estate, master blender Willy Herrera was allowed to dig into the company's stock of Connecticut broadleaf tobacco, which is used on Liga Privada No. 9 and Nica Rustica as wrapper. Herrera used this dark leaf to cover the Herrera Estelí TAA Exclusive bunch, which is a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and all-Nicaraguan fillers from Jalapa, Estelí and Condega. (The core Herrera Estelí blend is an Ecuadoran Habano wrapper, Honduran Criollo binder and Nicaraguan fillers from Jalapa and Estelí.)
Herrera Estelí TAA Exclusive, which measures 6 inches long by 52 ring gauge, will retail for $12 and come packed in simple wooden boxes of 12. It sports a red-and-gold band along with a matching secondary band that reads "TAA Exclusive." The cigars will begin shipping in April.
