Fratello Cigars Launches Puro Collection

Fratello Cigars is introducing its Puro Collection, a series of single-origin cigars made with tobacco from one country. The first in the new series is called Fratello 1821 Dominican Republic, and it’s only rolled with Dominican leaf. These puros will be on display at this weekend’s PCA trade show in New Orleans and are expected to ship to retailers in September.
Made in the Dominican Republic at La Aurora S.A., the 1821 Dominican Republic comes in one size, a hefty toro measuring 6 inches by 58 ring gauge. It comes in a colorful 12-count box and has a suggested retail price of $18.21 per cigar. According to the company, the cigar was made with a medium-to-full-bodied blend.
"We at Fratello have been known for working on tobacco blends from various countries,” says company owner Omar de Frias. “With the Puro Collection, I wanted to challenge myself and create something truly extraordinary with a single-origin blend, and the Fratello 1821 Dominican Republic delivered."
The year 1821 is historically significant to both the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, as both countries declared independence from Spanish colonial rule that very year.
The next planned release for the Puro Collection will be Fratello 1821 Nicaragua.
