Fully Loaded Atabey Humidor Coming To PCA
A PCA in July. The first will be displayed at the Atabey Lounge in Frisco, Texas at the Industrial Cigar Co. shop this month.
The humidor is made with a sleek exterior, black gloss finish and gold trim. Inside are four compartments, two side drawers, a front drawer and a traditional humidor lid. Each level features an array of Atabey vitolas carefully categorized and demarcated by size.
The Atabey brand and this humidor come by way of designer and cigarmaker Nelson Alfonso of Selected Tobacco.
“I have worked on many international projects throughout my career,” said Alfonso. “This Atabey humidor is the most special to my family as it celebrates the entire line of Atabey.”
Atabey is made annually in limited quantities. According to Alfonso, the cigars are aged for a minimum of five years after they’re rolled. Produced at the Tabacos de Costa Rica factory in Santiago de Puriscal, the cigars are covered in Ecuadoran Habano wrappers. While Alfonso says that there’s some Peruvian Ligero in the filler, the rest of the blend is undisclosed.
The limited-edition humidors will be distributed by New Hampshire-based United Cigars. Each Atabey Limited Edition Humidor is expected to have a suggested retail price of $3,999, which includes the humidor and 60 Atabey smokes.
While 250 humidors were produced, only 60 are coming out this year. The rest of the humidors will be sold over the next few years as the cigars complete their aging and are ready to be released.
