J.C. Newman Adding New Size to The American on the Fourth of July

In a patriotic celebration of cigars, J.C. Newman Cigar Co. is adding a new size to The American, a cigar rolled in the United States, and it’s launching on Independence Day. The new Double Robusto measures 5 1/2 inches by 56 ring gauge. It’s the first extension to the brand, which was launched in 2019, and it will bring The American up to five sizes.
Made by hand at J.C. Newman’s Connecticut broadleaf binder and filler of Connecticut Habano and a Pennsylvanian variety referred to as Type 41.
The new smoke is fat, and it’s designed to be powerful. “It’s the thickest ligero, meaning that it’s also the strongest The American cigar as well.”
The Double Robusto comes in boxes of 20 and retails for $17.50 each. While the official nationwide launch is on the Fourth of July, a few retailers across the country will preview the new size in the days leading up to the national holiday.
