Joya De Nicaragua’s Barrel-Aged Eagle Soars to Stores
Since its inception in 1968, Cuatro Cinco Edición Americana TAA Exclusive, which is heading to retailers now. According to the company, the finished cigars were aged in oak rum barrels for a year.
The Edición Americana is a 6-inch-by-54 ring gauge belicoso made exclusively for retail of the Tobacconists’ Association of America, and consist of a Nicaraguan Criollo wrapper, Dominican binder and Nicaraguan filler. Each of the 10-count, limited-edition boxes is adorned with America’s national bird—the bald eagle—across the inner and outer lids. Only 500 boxes have been released.
“These are some of the best cigars that come out of our factory,” said global commercial manager Daniel Barrios. “The stories we tell with them need to be special. We have selected the bald eagle because of what it represents to our American friends, an example of stamina, power and freedom.”
The Cuatro Cinco Edición Americana is made at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and comes as a follow-up to last year’s Asian exclusive. Like all cigars from Joya de Nicaragua, it’s distributed by Drew Estate.
