Maria Lucia Starts Shipping

Yesterday, shipments of Maria Lucia started heading out to retailers. The line, blended by Luciano Cigars co-owner PCA trade show.
Originally, Maria Lucia was offered in a single vitola as a limited-edition that appeared at the full line, with four sizes. The original vitola, Magnum Box Pressed, measures 5 1/4 inches by 54 ring gauge and sells for $12.96. Cañonazo Box Pressed is 5 7/8 by 52 ($12.80); Double Robusto Box Pressed is 6 1/2 by 50 ($12.50); and Corona Gorda Box Pressed is 5 5/8 by 46 ($11.50).
The line consists of a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, two Ecuadoran binder leaves (one grown from Sumatra seed, the other Havana ’92) and a mix of fillers from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Peru. According to the company, the cigars are medium to full in of strength.
Shipping in boxes of 24, Maria Lucia is rolled in Estelí, Nicaragua, at an ancillary facility of the Luciano Tabacos S.A. factory known as, fittingly, the Maria Lucia unit.
