Name Change For Selection Meerapfel

Selection Meerapfel, a collection of cigars from Cameroon tobacco growers M. Meerapfel Söhne of Belgium, has been rebranded. The cigars are now being sold under the name The Selection. The logos have also changed.
The Selection, which is only sold outside of the United States, consists of three lines, ranging in price from as little as 2.90 Swiss francs ($3.25) to as much as 33.90 Swiss francs ($38) per cigar. Each line is a regular-production brand, and each is quite different from the other.
Maestranza is made in Honduras, and it has five sizes, ranging in price from 9.80 Swiss francs ($11) to 11.50 Swiss francs (about $13). La Estancia Edition Exclusiva is the highest-priced of The Selection trio, with prices starting at 28.20 Swiss francs ($31.62) and going as high as 33.90 Swiss francs ($38). This is a four-size brand rolled in Honduras.
Machetero is the least expensive, a bundle brand made in Nicaragua using mixed filler. It comes in five sizes (previously, there were seven) and it sells for 2.90 Swiss francs ($3.25) to 4.60 Swiss francs ($5.15) each.
These cigars are not to be confused with the high-end-line of Meerapfel cigars that launched in 2022 with suggested retail prices of more than $80 each in the United States.
