Plasencia’s Six-Sided Smoke Now Comes in Colorado Claro

The Plasencias have chosen the most unique size from their core claro wrapper for a brand extension called the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I Colorado Claro. Hexagonally pressed with six distinct sides, the new cigar is wrapped in a cover leaf that the company says has been aged for 10 years.
The cigars retail for $21 each and began shipping to retailers just before the holidays. To reflect the unorthodox size, they come packaged in eye-catching, 10-count boxes shaped like hexagons.
Plasencia’s six-sided smoke first came to market in 2016 with the debut of the dark, full-bodied Alma Fuerte line. Jalapa.
When previously asked why he created a cigar with six sides, brand owner Nestor Andrés Plasencia responded: “The hexagon is nature's most perfect shape. Think of the honeycomb.”
There are currently no plans to extend this regular-production line beyond a single size, although more Colorado Claro cigars might be possible for the future. They are made in Nicaragua at the Plasencia Cigars S.A. factory along with the rest of the Alma series (Alma Fuerte, Alma del Fuego).
