Rocky Patel To Release Limited Batch Of Aged Cigars

Rocky Patel is set to debut a new brand of limited-production cigars that the company says have been aged three years. The new brand, called Rocky Patel ALR (an abbreviation of “Aged, Limited and Rare”), will debut at next week’s IPR trade show followed by a limited release in August.
According to Florida-based Rocky Patel Cigars, ALR was conceived in 2015 by CEO Rocky Patel at his TaviCusa factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, where they are also produced. “I was down in the factory working on new brands,” Patel said, in a press release. “And this one fulfilled an idea we had—maturing fully rolled cigars for greater complexity.”
Patel then ordered a production run of 100,000 for the blend, which dons a Habano-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador over Nicaraguan binder and filler tobacco. The first release, however, will only consist of 1,500 boxes of 20, or 30,000 cigars. The remaining cigars will be set aside as Rocky Patel’s private inventory.
Rocky Patel ALR will be offered in three vitolas: Robusto, measuring 5 inches by 50 ring gauge ($13); Toro, 6 by 52 ($14); and Sixty, 6 by 60 ($15).
According to Rocky Patel Cigars, ALR is the first in a series of “small batch” releases that the company plans to unveil in the years to come.
