Rocky Patel White Label Debuting At Big Smokes
The newest cigar from Rocky Patel, a priced, Connecticut-shade wrapped cigar called Rocky Patel White Label, is going to make its consumer debut this Saturday at the Big Smoke Meets WhiskyFest show, which will be held at the Las Vegas Big Smoke.
“We’re going to feature it at the Big Smokes,” says Patel. After the events, the cigar will next appear at Burn—his upscale cigar lounges—and then will ship to retail shops around November 11.
The smokes have a deceptive power, says Patel. They are wrapped in light, Connecticut-shade wrappers, leaves grown in the Connecticut River Valley, around Hartford, but on the inside is a core of Nicaraguan leaves with more power than the wrapper would suggest.
“It’s Connecticut with a slight attitude,” says Patel. “It does have some of those creamy notes to it, with a lingering sweetness, but it’s got some richness too.”
The cigars come in boxes of 20, and will initially be offered in four sizes: Robusto (5 inches long by 50 ring gauge, with a suggested retail price of $19); Toro (6 1/2 by 52, $20); Churchill (7 by 48, $20) and Sixty (6 by 60, $21). A fifth size, called Half Corona, will follow in “about nine months,” said Patel.
These are the most expensive cigars in the Rocky Patel portfolio. They are being rolled at Patel’s Tavicusa cigar factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
