Straight From Q Branch: S.T. Dupont’s Spectre Collection

Steady your cocktail shakers, James Bond fans—the new British spy movie Spectre hits U.S theaters November 6, and to coincide with the film, Lotus International has released S.T. Dupont's Spectre Limited Edition, a two-part collection of luxury pens, lighters and a cigar cutter that feature design elements inspired by the iconic secret agent franchise.
The first set of accessories is called the Spectre Collection, and the highlight of the bundle is a Ligne 2 lighter. S.T. Dupont has taken its classic Ligne 2 model and dramatically cast it with spiral lines and bored a cylindrical hole through the middle to mimic the famous gun-barrel sequence that kicks off most Bond thrillers. The lighter is available in two finishes: palladium and black with a satin guilloché. Both versions are emblazoned with the Spectre and 007 logos and retail for $2,000 each.
The collection also boasts a series of pens based off of Dupont's Ligne D writing tool, constructed with a guilloché metal body and swirled, gun-barrel design. It's adorned with the same Spectre and 007 logos as the Collection lighter and is also available in the same palladium and black finishes. The writing instruments are available in roller ball ($1,830), fountain ($1,960) and ballpoint pen ($1,750) formats. In keeping with the secret agent theme, the Spectre Collection lighter and the pens have been modified with a hidden compartment for transporting covert communications.

Only 1,963 of each item in the Spectre Collection has been produced, a number chosen by S.T. Dupont in reference to the year that Spectre, the evil organization bent on world domination, first appeared. While Dupont says Spectre, was introduced first in the Bond film From Russia with Love, astute Bond fans might argue that the preceding film, Dr. No, which premiered in 1962 and who's titular villain is revealed to be a Spectre agent, is the first true appearance of the evil organization.
The second part of the Spectre Limited Edition collection is called the Spectre Access Collection. It features a chrome, torch-flame lighter in both MaxiJet ($230) and MiniJet ($180) formats, a cigar cutter ($180), and a ballpoint pen designed around the Défi model ($450), which is available in the same black and palladium finishes. All items in the Access collection are decorated with the Spectre and 007 logos.
Additionally, Dupont will be releasing a gift set in December that includes the Spectre Ligne 2 lighter, fountain pen, ballpoint pen and adaptable roller nib group. The items come in a gift box with a combination lock and is limited to a run of 150 boxes in both palladium and black finishes. The gift boxes retail for $7,600.
