Viaje Haunting Humidors With The Crow

For more than a decade, October’s spooky season has inspired Viaje to create Halloween-themed cigars. This year, the California-based company is releasing The Crow, an all-Nicaraguan smoke with a dark, Corojo ’99 wrapper.
Next week on the 16th, Viaje will start shipping The Crow to retailers. It comes in only one size—5 1/2 inches long by 50 ring gauge—and is set to retail for $9.60 per cigar. Previous Halloween smokes from Viaje have included the Full Moon and the Mini Moon, but brand owner Andre Farkas decided to shelve Full Moon for 2024 and instead take the design into more ominous, Poe-like territory.
“Full Moon has been a Halloween staple for us over the years,” Farkas tells Cigar Aficionado. “What people may have overlooked is on each box, in every iteration, there is a small crow present. The Crow is now finally getting his due with his own line.”
Like many of Viaje’s cigars, The Crow is made in Nicaragua at the Aganorsa Leaf factory. It comes in boxes of 15. The cigar isn’t intended to taste like candy corn or pumpkin spice, but Farkas says it’s a full-bodied blend that’s completely different from any of his previous seasonal releases.
