Warped Releases Smoke In Honor Of Owner’s Father

In a homage to his father’s birthday, Warped brand owner Don Reynaldo is an existing, single-sized line, the new 70th is a limited-edition Belicoso measuring 6 1/2 inches by 48 ring gauge. Only 1,000 boxes of 10 have been produced.
“This special, limited edition is to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday on December 17th,” Gellis says. “Without my father, I wouldn't have been informed from such a young age on cigars. It was my dad who had me sit with him while he smoked in his office, and told me about construction, sizes, flavor profiles and everything that encomed the world of cigars.”
The Belicoso has a suggested retail price of $30 each, or $300 per box. Like the core line, the cigar is composed of a Dominican Corojo wrapper, a binder from Nicaragua and filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It’s made in Miami at the El Titan de Bronze factory. Gellis calls this brand the most Cubanesque cigar he makes, in both construction and blend. Typical of Cuban cigars, Don Reynaldo is rolled in the entubado style and topped with a triple-seam cap. Its flavor profile is intended to be a cross between what Gellis calls the creaminess of Hoyo de Monterrey and the spice of Partagás.
