Viaje Turns To Joya De Nicaragua For Sixth Cigar In Craft Series

It’s a homecoming of sorts for Viaje, as company founder Andre Farkas has returned to Joya de Nicaragua for his latest project: Roots. It’s the sixth cigar in Viaje’s Craft Series and will ship to retailers on Monday.
Joya de Nicaragua had previously made the Viaje Oro in 2007, but the two companies haven’t worked together since. When asked why he wanted Nicaragua’s oldest cigar factory to produce Roots, Farkas responded: “I had always loved the Antaño. That blend hits my profile dead center. It only made sense to try to work with a factory that made a cigar that I loved.”
Roots comes in one size, a Toro measuring 6 inches by 52 ring gauge. It’s made of an Ecuador Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and a filler blend of tobacco from Nicaragua, Brazil and the United States. The foil-wrapped cigars are packaged in 10-count boxes and retail for $11 each, or $110 per box.
Viaje’s Craft Series started in 2018 and includes cigars such as For the Love of the Leaf.
