CRA Names Michael Copperman As New Executive Director

After a search that’s spanned more than three years, the Cigar Rights of America has finally appointed a new executive director. Michael Copperman accepted the position. The last person to serve in that role was Glynn Loope, who stepped down as executive director in November of 2020.
Copperman also serves as the CRA’s legislative and regulatory affairs director, a role that he will continue to perform. According to the CRA, Copperman has been crucial in advocating for the rights of cigar enthusiasts and industry stakeholders.
“Mike is poised to lead CRA in its mission to protect the rights and interests of cigar enthusiasts, manufacturers and retailers nationwide,” the organization said. “As the executive director, Mike will oversee the organization’s strategic direction, enhance member engagement and spearhead advocacy efforts on behalf of the of CRA.”
Based in Alexandria, Virginia, the Cigar Rights of America is a consumer-based advocacy group that aims to protect the rights of cigar smokers, manufacturers, retailers and the cigar community as a whole.
