GISPERT MADURO ROBUSTO

Tasting Note
If you think what this world needs is a great $3 cigar, the Gispert Maduro Robusto is for you. It’s the least-expensive cigar to make our Top 25 list, with a retail price so low it approaches that of some bargain-bin brands. Gispert, an old Cuban brand name, was a casualty of the cigar boom until Altadis U.S.A. Inc. revived it in 2003. The maduro version came out in 2005. Medium to full in body, the robusto has creamy cocoa flavors and a good touch of almonds on the finish. As an added bonus, the five-inch-long robusto is extra thick for that size, with a ring gauge of 54. It’s hard to find a better value in the cigar world.
