A Caldwell Cigar To Benefit Pets In Need

Pets are like of the family, but sometimes animal owners can’t afford veterinary care, especially when they’re homeless. Caldwell Cigars wanted to address this problem, so it’s releasing a new cigar called Lost & Found Give A F*CK. Part of the cigars’ proceeds will be donated to Project Unleashed, a Miami-based charity organization that provides free veterinary care to animals whose owners simply don’t have the resources. The cigars are expected to start shipping June 16.
“Too many people put off getting help [for themselves] because they don't want to leave their pets behind,” says co-founder and current vice president Robert Caldwell. “That's why, for this year's Give A F*CK cigar, we've partnered with Project Unleashed.”
The blend for Give A F*CK consists of Nicaraguan and Dominican filler. The wrapper and binder are Habano and Sumatra, respectively, but Caldwell is not disclosing the origins of either. Nor is he disclosing the location of the factory.
It’s offered in one size—a robusto measuring 5 inches by 50 ring gauge—and comes in paper-wrapped packs of 10 retailing for $120, or $12 per cigar. A total of 500 bundles have been produced.
“Every pack of these cigars helps fund monthly, volunteer-led clinics, keeping more families—both—two and four-legged—together when they need it most,” Caldwell says.
Caldwell Cigar Co. was acquired last year by Laudisi Enterprises, a company that specializes in pipes and tobacco.
