A Cigar For World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall

Eddie Hall is one of the strongest men in history, the first person to ever deadlift 500 kilograms (1,102 pounds) and the winner of the 2017 World’s Strongest Man contest. He’s lifted Atlas stones weighing hundreds of pounds, pulled a 44,000-pound cargo plane and tossed kegs through the air as if they were baseballs.
Soon, he’ll be hoisting a cigar with his name on it, as Rebellion Cigars is launching a one-size brand called Eddie Hall—Beast at the PCA trade show this weekend.
“I guess having my own cigar has been a small dream of mine for a while,” Hall, 37, says to Cigar Aficionado. “Since winning World’s Strongest Man, I started to slow down and enjoy life more and cigars are a big part of that enjoyment, so I wanted to create something that suits my personality and also enjoy myself. Without breaking the bank, I think this is a luxury cigar that will surprise people with its size and taste.”
The smoke is a limited edition rolled at Tabacalera Las Colinas in Danlí, Honduras. Fittingly for a cigar named after a supersized man (Hall is six-foot-two, and topped the scales at more than 400 pounds when he was at peak strength) the cigar is large, a Super Toro measuring 6 inches long by 56 ring. It has a suggested retail price of $14.80. Rebellion offers no specifics on the blend, but unlike the ultra-powerful man for whom it’s named, it’s not meant to be strong. Expect more of a medium-bodied blend. The cigars will begin shipping in May.
When Hall was profiled in Cigar Aficionado’s popular My Favorite Cigar section, he spoke of smoking cigars fairly often, averaging three to four a week, more when he’s on vacation. “When I’m having downtime, I’ll have one, maybe two a day,” he says. “I love smoking on the weekends, just sit in the garden, just enjoy nature, look at the trees, listen to the birds and smoke a cigar. Nothing better.”
