Diesel has just added another blend to its Sunday Gravy series, bringing the line to its sixth and final size. The Porcellino, which measures 6 inches by 52 ring gauge, consists of an Ecuador Havana wrapper around Nicaraguan binder and filler. Like previous Diesel Sunday Gravy cigars, it’s made in Nicaragua by A.J. Fernandez.

The name translates to “little pig” in Italian and refers to the fountain in Florence of a wild boar. The bronze sculpture was created by artist Pietro Tacca. A reproduction now stands in Florence’s Mercato Nuovo outdoor market.

Sunday Gravy debuted in August of 2021 with the San Marzano size. The idea behind the release was that the tobacco was fermented slowly, under low temperatures or “low-and-slow” just like the tomato sauces traditionally made on Sundays in Italian-American households. Follow-up releases held to the culinary theme and included more sizes like Rosamarino. Wild boar is often used in meat-based sauces.

The Sunday Gravy Porcellino has a suggested retail price of $4.99 per cigar, or $49.90 per 10-count package. They will head to retailers next week on October 3.

Diesel cigars are distributed by Forged Cigar Co., a subsidiary for handmade cigars owned by corporate giant Scandinavian Tobacco Group.
