La Aurora Turns To Arango For Midwest Distribution

La Aurora S.A., the Dominican Republic’s oldest producer of cigars, has partnered with Arango Cigar Co. to augment its U.S. distribution. Arango, which is based in Illinois, has taken over distribution for Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Distribution for the rest of the country is handled by La Aurora, USA, a company that launched in April.
“With La Aurora having representation in the southern region, it was important to establish a partnership in the central region with a like-minded group of individuals founded in family,” said Ed McKenna, CEO of La Aurora, USA.
In November of last year, La Aurora announced an end to its long-time distribution agreement with Miami Cigar & Co. After more than three decades with Miami Cigar, La Aurora decided to bring U.S. distribution in house and formed La Aurora, USA.
La Aurora produces brands such as La Aurora 100 Años.
“We are excited to be distributing a brand that is led by family business-oriented people, that understand and practice this philosophy as well,” said Mike Gold, president of Arango. “This approach is one of the reasons why La Aurora is celebrating their 120th anniversary this year.”
