Norteño Edicion Limitada Churchill Returns to Market

A limited-edition Norteño is back for a second act. Drew Estate has relaunched the Herrera Esteli Norteño Edicion Limitada Churchill, a cigar that debuted in 2015. It started shipping to retailers this week.
Dark and box-pressed, the Herrera Esteli Norteño is rolled with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Honduran binder and filler tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa in Nicaragua, but it isn’t an exact duplicate of the original blend. According to the company, the tobaccos have been slightly adjusted to give the Churchill “a smoother and complex smoke.”
“The Norteño Edicion Limitada continues to be one of my favorite projects at Drew Estate,” said Willy Herrera, master blender at Drew Estate. “This cigar showcases the complexity in the blending process, requiring tweaks of the classic Norteño blend to really shine in the Churchill vitola.”
At 7 inches by 48 ring gauge, the cigars retail for $14.53 each and ship in newly designed, 15-count wooden boxes. The new packaging, which differs from the original 2015 release, was on display at last year’s IPR trade show in Las Vegas.
Although back in the market, this is still a limited-edition cigar.
