Before & After From Eladio Diaz Coming Next Week

Tobacco veteran Arango Cigar Co. Called Before & After, the cigar is made in the Dominican Republic at Diaz’s factory and should be heading to retailers on April 15.
A Davidoff of Geneva alum, Diaz left the Swiss company in 2021 and went off on his own to start his factory, Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera. Diaz gained some attention when he produced cigars under contract for Freud Cigar Co. Last year, he released a limited-edition anniversary smoke with his name on it, and now Before & After is a full-fledged brand in normal production.
Before & After consists of an Ecuadoran Corojo wrapper, Dominican Habano 2000 binder and filler blend of Dominican Habano 2000, Piloto Cubano and Habano ’92. There’s also some Dominican broadleaf in the filler as well.
The new brand comes in three sizes: My Family, measuring 5 inches by 50 ring gauge ($15); Pasion, at 6 by 52 ($16) and Legado, 5 3/4 by 54 ($16.50). All come in 20-count boxes.
Explaining the name, Diaz says that the blend of tobaccos “represents my before, when I was an employee in a cigar factory, and my after, seeing my children keeping alive the legacy of what has been a labor of love for me.”
